About the Film
The Goose, a mute young man attempts to regain his voice and escape his oppressive surroundings with the help of an inventive, but behind the times Travel Agent.
The Goose must traverse a gauntlet of miscommunication, small town bravado and Snowbird weirdos to achieve his goal.
He meets a woman known as the Escape Artist in the hospital and they hatch a loose plot to migrate to Arizona, where the Goose can receive new age voice therapy and the Escape Artist can escape winter's clutches.
About the Filmmaker
Mike Maryniuk was born in Winnipeg, but raised in the rural back country of Manitoba. A completely self-taught film virtuoso, Maryniuk’s film world is an inventive hybrid of Jim Henson, Norman McLaren and Stan Brakhage. Maryniuk’s films are a visual stew of hand-made ingredients and are full of home cooked wonderfulness.
