About the Film
Four young adults try to form meaningful relationships in a barren world of dead end jobs and awkward conversations in Greg Hanec’s acclaimed minimalist drama Downtime. The Woman (Maureen Gamelsetter) is at the center of a quartet of bewildered, though gently touching, low-income slackers and dreamers.
As a surprise Canadian entry at the 1986 Berlin International Film Festival, Downtime has since established a reputation as “one of the best feature films made in Manitoba” (Take One).
This DVD presents Downtime in a suitably pristine format (restored from the original negative), and contains several special features, including an interview with the director and two of Hanec’s early shorts, Music and Slow, Fast, Single.

The Home Use DVD is meant for private, home viewing only for individuals, including home schooling for up to 8 people. This DVD is not meant to be screened in front of a large group in a workshop, classroom or community setting. Please see the other use types if you wish to screen it publicly.
